Team Beka & The Biscuit!
Tid Lee Wink, our new gelding.
Welcome to Rivertown Farm, located in the beautiful Highland of Eastern Kentucky, an area originally populated by immigrants from Eastern Europe. No more fitting place for a Gypsy Cob. We purchased our farm from Doc Triplett. Click here to see some images taken around our farm.
We began our journey in 2003 with a trip to the Kentucky Horse Park to arrive on the only RARE Breed exhibition day that they had ever hosted. There, on a far off knoll, stood a horse so beautiful it took my breath away.
From that moment forward I have worked and worked to bring the first Gypsy Cob to this part of the state.
I have always considered myself a dreamer, being the first person in my family to ever graduate from college. I began and still help run Backstage Players, a youth theatre dedicated to giving area youth a venue for their considerable talent. Backstage Players in the only program like it in the state of Kentucky and is now in its 20th year.
My vision to steward gypsy horses was realized with the arrival of Glenfiddich, a Gypsy Cob yearling stallion. A horse bred and born in Hutto, Texas by none other than Desi Meurer of Golden Signature Farm. He has bloodlines that include Keebler, Fionn MacCumhail and The Bishop to name a few. He was and is the realization of a dream, and we are proud to have him roaming the hillsides of our farm. He is joined by Big Johns Biscuit and Gravy a 4 year old gelding who is already making a name for himself in the show ring.
Along side these wonderful boys are our Clydesdale mares Curly Sue and Lucy, who are our foundation breeding stock for Drum Horses.
All these are joined by Isabelles Grande Finale, our Gypsy/Arab Cross. She was the first horse on our journey and is much loved. Because of Belle, we met Desi Meurer, and the rest is, shall we say, history.
I am glad you dropped by this website and hope that you visit often. Drop me a line, there can never be too many Gypsy Cob Friends.
Please look at our links page as these are the folks who have helped up along the way, and to our sales page for our current horses for sale.
Sincerely,
Robin C. Hale
